Mini Hiatus!

But not for very long!

Due to upcoming life events and a pretty hefty rework of my current wip, I’ll be taking off the rest of July and all of August. Blogging has been a rough time lately as I deal with some major changes to my platform, writing goals, and writing projects.

This was not an easy decision to make, because I’m the type of person to just keep grinding, but I’d rather take the time to focus on my strategy and deliver great content than throw something together last minute. And that’s what it’s become as I scramble through some major changes to my current work in progress. And with so many weddings and a promotion at work, it’s been a bit of a stressful summer. I’ve had a lot to try and stay on top of, and I feel like I’m spread way too thin.

So, Alyssa Lost in Space will be going on a very brief hiatus! Posts will resume Monday, September 2nd, 2019.

In the meantime, I’ll still be around. I post frequent updates over on my Instagram.

Enjoy your the rest of your summer, and I’ll see you again in September!

Prepare to do work. And lots of it.

5 Easy Ways to Organize Your Life Right Away

I’ve mentioned in a previous post that I’m not a productivity guru. Well, I’m not an organizational one either, but I am the type of person to organize receipts by year and month and I have an organizer in my bag, so I like to think I’m a little more predisposed to living an organized life than most.

And this has only grown as I’ve grown older and accumulated more stuff. I have a lot going on right now and I like to keep my life as simple and organized as possible, and I have a few tips here to help you do the same.

Spin-Offs & Adaptations: What Video Game Worlds Would Make for Good Books?

I’m not sure if it’s the nostalgia or the fact that having pre-made material makes the production process that much faster, but adaptations are currently the entertainment industry’s bread and butter.

We’ve seen books adapted into games, movies and tv shows. But what about the other way around? Star Wars, for instance, has a whole canon of novels that flesh out events and characters not present in the movies. As a series or franchise gains popularity, it makes sense to fill out an entertainment line-up with complementary books. And it’s good for the fans too – we get more of what we love, though the form factor might be a little different.
